Barnsley Council’s Shared Lives case study videos

Shared Lives is a scheme to help people with learning disability live a more independent life. The Shared Lives scheme recruits, assesses and supports carers who offer accommodation or care and support in their own family home to the service users. Because of this, people using the Shared Lives scheme have the opportunity to be part of the carer’s family and the local community. The five videos produced by Deadline Digital look at four carers stories and how this unique service impacts on the service users.

Having commissioned Deadline Digital to produce a series of films for our Shared Lives Services, I can thoroughly recommend Geoff and his team for their work. Being a former journalist, as well as a digital editor, Geoff had the skills and experience to bring our project to life. His has great interpersonal skills, really putting the people in the films at ease with the whole process and he’s got an eye for a good angle on a story. The films he’s made for us are informative, extremely watchable and heartwarming too. The whole project was delivered on time, within budget and it has by far exceeded the expectations we’d set out in the brief. We’re extremely proud of our Shared Lives families and working with Deadline Digital has given us the opportunity to shine a light on the people who make the service so special!
